4/20: Legalise And Tax It?
This week, all the fans of marijuana celebrated “4/20”. A day to celebrate the culture and use of the plant substance. Although “weed” is currently illegal in Ghana to both grow and use without a license, we took a look at the current law and wondered if the total legalization of marijuana might spur the growth of marijuana startups in Ghana.
Will we see marijuana dispensaries and startups pop up like in the US? And could regulating and taxing marijuana lead to a revenue windfall for the local government?
