A $12.9 Million Pre-Series A raise and a pending $200 Million Exit
It looks like the Ghanaian tech ecosystem got a big boost in the arm when it comes to investing funding. Farmerline, a tech agric startup recently got an investment of $12.9 million in a pre-series A round which was led by Acumen Resilient Agriculture Fund (ARAF) and FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank.
And just as the month of April is just about to end, a big scoop from the guys at TechCabal had a report that PEG Africa, a solar startup that provides pay as you go services to users in Ghana and other African countries will be acquired by Bboxx, another solar startup based in the UK. The deal is reported to be about $200 million.
If this story is confirmed and this deal goes through, it will be the biggest exist in Ghana’s tech ecosystem.
These investments signal that there are opportunities in the Ghana tech ecosystem as more startups grow and expand across Ghana and across borders. So who will be the next startup with big investment numbers? We’ll see.
