Can car sharing be a new trend in the African space? That’s what Treepz is attempting to do. The company this week rebranded into a car-sharing marketplace that will allow car owners to rent out their vehicles for short to long-term periods.
It’s an interesting concept. The car-sharing market in Africa is expected to grow at an annual rate of 20% from 2020 to 2030, with a projected market value of $500 million.
But can it work in Africa in the long term? Would consumers be willing to rent their cars? We’ll see what happens.
