Pilot Phase For Pan African Payment and Settlement System To End In December 2021
The Pan African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) is expected to have its pilot program completed by the end of 2021.
The PAPSS is anticipated to minimize the financial cost of cross-border trade and improve financial integration as well as boost intra-African trade and investment competitiveness.
The system will for example allow a small trader group in Ghana to freely import goods from Sierra Leone, using the Ghana Cedi without making that purchase in a third currency.

Fast-growing ride-hailing taxi, MARAMOJA Transport Board has appointed three new members to help fortify the business strategy in the region. The new members include Ghana’s Ethel D. Cofie, Marta Paiar, and Paul Ndichu.
Twitter To Officially Start Operations In Ghana In September
Twitter will officially start operations in Ghana starting in September according to the Deputy Director Of Diaspora Affairs.
Earlier in April, Twitter announced Ghana as its headquarters for its African operations.
Ghana Police Activates Road Surveillance Centre
The Ghana Police Service has officially activated its surveillance centre to check and police drivers across the country.
The system captures road networks throughout the country which would help the MTTD to monitor the level of indiscipline on the roads.
The centre, which is managed by the MTTD, conducts traffic monitoring and surveillance throughout the country with the help of special CCTV cameras called Intelligence Video Surveillance (IVS), which are installed at the various intersections, vital installations and highways across the country.
