Lami Technologies Raises Additional $3.7 Million To Expand Insurtech In Africa
It’s been a busy week for Vodafone and Telecel Group. Bloomberg reported that the group was purchasing 70% of Vodafone Ghana while the government retains 30%. But the Ministry of Communications and Digitisation made some remarks at a presser that the Telecel Group was “not suitable” to take over Vodafone and manage it.
The Telecel Group (who is apparently communicating by press releases in the media) stated that they were putting up $500 million (Bloomberg) for all cash purchase deal with the government.
The National Communications Authority is yet to give regulatory approval for the deal but it should be interesting to see how the government plays this.
